The police received a report at 5:20 AM that a man threatened several people on the E18.

Operations manager Sven Christian Lie informed NTB that the man was armed with a knife.

When the police arrived, the man tried to get into several cars. The police then fired one shot that hit the man. He was hit in the leg, the police told TV 2.

The man who was shot is not seriously injured and is being treated in the hospital. No other injuries have been reported, the police said.

A part of the E18 was blocked while the police carried out investigations, but the section was reopened a little before 8 o’clock.
