A man has been arrested and charged with attempted murder after a man in his 20s was found with gunshot wounds in an apartment at Bjølsen in Oslo on Saturday night.

On Sunday, Mona Nordby told news bureau NTB that the attempted murder charges are preliminary. The man has been arrested in a police operation in Torshov on Sunday night, Avisa Oslo writes.

“We are still looking for more suspects in the case. Only one person is arrested in the case,” Nordby said on Sunday morning.

The police received a report on a shooting incident at 9:00 PM on Saturday and moved out with several patrols.

Inside an apartment in an apartment building in Ålesundgata on Bjølsen in Oslo, they found a young man with gunshot wounds.

Looking for two suspects

Witnesses reported seeing three people with an Arab appearance ran from the location and down towards Akerselva. We are looking for them, operations manager Arve Røtterud in the Oslo police said.

The victim was taken care of by ambulance personnel on site and was transported to Ullevål hospital on Saturday night.

He is not life-threateningly injured, police said at 11:00 PM.

The police have spoken to the person and have some information about the case.

No weapon

“I can not say what type of injury he has suffered or where he is injured,” he said.

The police have not secured any weapons either.

Røtterud did not want to comment on any relations between the injured man and the suspects.

The police were notified of the shooting at 9:03 PM on Saturday. Neighbors told newspaper Avisa Oslo that they heard one or two shots before the police and ambulance arrived at the scene.
