The extent of the assaults the man is accused of, the police refer to as Norway’s most extensive assault case.
Eastern police district has been investigating the case for several years and has now charged the man with sexual assault against around 300 young boys.
In addition, the police have issued a punishment for assaulting another 160 boys in the form of a so-called procedural prosecution judgment.
The charge applies primarily to assaults that have taken place via the internet, but there are also several of the boys who have met the accused in person. The victims are from all parts of Norway and from other Nordic countries, states prosecutor Guro Hansson Bull in a press release.
