A man in his 20s is in Tromsø is charged with sexually abusing a 17-year-old girl who recently arrived in Norway from Ukraine.
He is charged with abusing a person under the age of 18 in a particularly vulnerable life situation, the Troms Police District wrote in a press release.
The incident is said to have happened on Thursday this week.
“The accused man has been arrested and in police custody. The police have requested that he be remanded in custody for four weeks,” the press release notes.
The man is known to the police from before, the newspaper VG writes.
“I can not say anything about who notified the police,” police lawyer Kjersti Mari Nilsen told the newspaper.
