Man convicted of raping his fiancée in Vestland county
A man in his 30s has been sentenced to four years and three months of prison for raping his fiancée.
The incident happened in Vestland county in September of last year.
The man did not plead guilty and claimed that the intercourse was voluntary.
Sogn og Fjordane District Court decided that the man raped the woman, who, for religious reasons, wanted to wait until marriage to have sex.
The man is also sentenced to pay her NOK 175,000 kroner.
A total of 289 days of custody will be deducted from his prison sentence.
