Man dies after getting hit by train in Oslo

A man in his late 40s died after he was hit by a train near Ljan station in Oslo at 11:30 PM on Friday.

On Saturday, Oslo police operations manager Gjermund Stokkli told news bureau NTB that they consider the case an accident.

“The man was seen walking in the track some distance from the station before the accident,” he said.

The police were notified of the incident at 11:28 PM by the driver. There were 23 passengers on board the train, and they were evacuated.

All train traffic was stopped in both directions while police worked on the scene. Traffic resumed at 1 o’clock Saturday night.
