Three men have been arrested and charged with inflicting grievous bodily harm resulting in death. A man in his 20s died after being stabbed in the center of Skien on Saturday.

At 12:45, the police in the southeast of the country were notified that a man had been found stabbed at Ibsenhuset in the center of Skien. The man was then taken to hospital, where he later died of the injuries.

“Three men have now been arrested and charged with inflicting grievous bodily harm resulting in death,” Linda Leland, acting head of the investigation section at the Grenland police station, stated in a press release on Saturday.

Two possible crime scenes

“We have forensic technicians on site and will also conduct surveys and interrogate witnesses in the area to try to clarify what happened,” Leland said.

The police are still unsure where the stabbing took place but are investigating two possible locations.

“We have checked the surveillance cameras, and the victim came running from the area, fell over, and ended up in the park. We now have two possible crime scenes, the apartment and the park,” operations manager Sondre Dahl told the newspaper Telemarksavisa.

The police are asking people with information about the incident to contact them.

The police emphasized that the incident has nothing to do with another violent incident in Skien on Saturday, where a person was hit in the head with a hammer and taken to hospital with minor injuries.
