A man from Troms has been fined NOK 20,000 for breaching quarantine hotel duty when he returned home from Gran Canaria this spring.

The man was supposed to stay in the quarantine hotel for ten days, but he left the hotel already the day after arriving at Gardermoen, Norwegian Broadcasting (NRK) writes.

The man is not the only one who has left the quarantine hotel. At the end of June, the Eastern Police District, which includes Gardermoen, stated that it had made 270 reports.

The vast majority of the cases were dropped.
