A man in his 40s has been sentenced to pay a NOK 15,000 fine after coughing on a train conductor and saying he has a corona.
The incident happened on the train from Gjøvik to Lunner in January this year. The man denied criminal guilt when the case went to court in August, but the majority in the district court trusted the conductor’s explanation of the course of events, according to the newspaper Oppland Arbeiderblad.
The man was first fined NOK 20,000, but he refused to accept the fine. The man’s personal finances were taken into account in the district court, and the fine was reduced to NOK 15,000.
The man must also pay NOK 2,000 in legal costs.
