The police in Trøndelag first stated that several passers-by were beaten, but after on-site work, they have only found one injured person.

“We received calls from several people who said that a person hit another person with a one and a half meter long plank. He was hit in the face, so the plank broke,” operations manager Roger Mogstad in Trøndelag Police District told news bureau NTB.

“For a while, we were unsure if there were more people who were injured, but we found only one person. He has injuries to the face and teeth and was taken by ambulance to St. Olav’s hospital. The extent of the injuries is not known,” Mogstad said.

The man who was arrested is in his 40s. The man taken to hospital is in his 20s. The incident happened outside the shopping center Trondheim Torg, right in the center of the city.
