A man in his 20s has been sentenced to four months in prison for stealing a Rolex watch in Bærum from a former colleague.

The robbery happened in January last year when the man in his 20s, together with another person unknown to the police, held the man down and stole the Rolex watch.

The watch had a value of just under NOK 100,000.

According to the verdict from Ringerike, Asker, and Bærum District Court, the defendant claimed that it was time to repay a debt. However, the court did not believe his claims.

“On the other hand, the court finds that the background for the robbery was most likely (connected to the fact) that the defendant, who followed the victim’s Instagram, was aware that the victim liked to post pictures of expensive watches and cars. Furthermore, the defendant saw the Rolex when they worked together,” the verdict states.
