A man in his 60s is life-threateningly injured after a fire in an apartment in Sarpsborg center on Saturday night.

Another man suffered minor smoke-related injuries, operations manager Terje Nordang in the Eastern Police District told newspaper VG.

“It is too early to say anything about the cause of the fire yet. We will carry out several investigations at the scene during the day,” Nordang added.

The report of the fire, which broke out in a building with four residential units, came at 2:27 AM on Saturday.

All the other residents are accounted for, and extinguishing work is still going on on-site.
