A man had to jump into the sea when it started to burn in his boat in Træla in Tønsberg on Sunday.
At 10.51, the Southeast police district was notified that a leisure boat was burning at Træleborgodden and that a person had jumped into the water.
Shortly afterwards, they announced that the man in his 40s was picked up by a passing boat. There were no more people on board the boat.
The boat driver escaped unharmed, but was checked by health personnel.
The fire must have started in the engine compartment. About 40 minutes after the police first reported the boat fire, they stated that the fire was under control.
