A man in his 20s has been sentenced to 13 years in prison for killing Sofie Vo Nguyen in Bergen in September last year.
The verdict was passed in Hordaland District Court on Friday afternoon. The trial lasted over six days in the Bergen courthouse.
On September 26 last year, 20-year-old Sofie Vo Nguyen was killed in her apartment in Åsane in Bergen. The accused man lived with Nguyen and has admitted to killing her.
In the district court, prosecutor Silje Alsaker Solheim asked that the accused be sentenced to 18 years in prison. She believed the killing was planned. However, the man was not convicted of mutilation or rape.
