A man in his early 20s died after being shot at Prinsdal grill in Oslo before midnight on Friday. An elderly man was also found with a knife injury.

Police were notified of the shooting by witnesses at 11:51 pm while the man with knife injuries was discovered later. Police searched for at least an hour and a half for the perpetrator who they suspect is behind both offences.

The man with knife injuries was sent to Ullevål hospital. The victim who was critically injured was attended to by health personnel at the scene but did not survive the attack, according to NTB’s photographer at the scene who received confirmation of the facts from the police at 1.35am.

“Relatives will be notified immediately,” said Operations Manager Line Skott at the Oslo Police to NTB.

Although the search for the perpetrator has ended, the investigation into the murder and violence will continue.
