Ambulance and armed police rushed to Majorstuen in Oslo on Saturday morning after reports that a man with a dog had been threatened.

The incident happened in Kirkeveien at 8 AM on Saturday. It is still unclear exactly what happened.

“We are in contact with a man who says he was exposed to a threatening situation. He is under the care of ambulance personnel because it is possible that a defense spray, a type of pepper spray or something similar, has been used,” operations manager Tor Gulbrandsen in the Oslo Police District told Norwegian Broadcasting (NRK).

Rikskanalen reported early Saturday morning that the police had a suspicion that a gun was involved. However, the police confirmed only the use of a defense spray.

Unharmed

“The information about a gun comes from the offended and not the police. The only thing we can say is that the man was sprayed with a defense spray. Furthermore, we have no in-depth knowledge of the incident,” Jonas Andresen in the Oslo Police District told NTB.

The man’s dog is also said to have been sprayed, but both man and dog appear unharmed.

The police have so far not come into contact with any suspects, and a case is being opened about the incident.
