Two out of three with Covid-19, experienced a change in taste and smell, shows a new Norwegian Corona study.

Over 140,000 Norwegian participants have so far responded to the study. Participants have responded, among other things, with symptoms they have experienced in the past three weeks – and here the change to the senses of taste and smell stands out, Bergens Tidende writes.

70 per cent of those with a positive Corona test reported a change in taste and smell. Less than 10 percent of those with a negative test experienced the same.

– We knew that altered taste and smell sense is a symptom of Coronavirus, but we were surprised at how big this change was, says doctor Arne Søraas, who also leads the study at Oslo University Hospital.

Also, feeling tired and limp is a recurring symptom. As many as 85 per cent of the Corona infected reported this, compared to 48 per cent of those with a negative test.

– Many people say that the lethargy lasts for several weeks. It shows that the Coronavirus is no joke, says Søraas.

198,362 Norwegians have been tested for the Corona virus in Norway, but only 8,240 people, about 1.5 per cent, have tested positive.
