Nearly 30 percent said they do not trust what the media writes about the coronavirus. This is according to a survey InFact conducted for Media24.

When asked “Do you trust what the media writes about the coronavirus”, 29.7 percent said “no” while 30.3 percent said they “do not know” and 40 percent answered “yes”.

Erik Knudsen, a postdoctoral fellow at the Department of Communication and Media Studies at the University of Bergen, thinks the percentage is high.

“It may be something we should be concerned about, if it is true that many people do not trust what appears in the media. For example, if you are quarantined and do not trust the information you get about why it is important not to break the quarantine, it can have serious consequences,“ he said.
