Many have not returned to daycare after Coronavirus outbreak closures

Nearly 3,000 children have not returned to kindergartens or daycare facilities after they reopened, estimates Private Kindergartens National Association (PBL), which is concerned.

“The estimate is based on a survey of PBL members. 1,000 kindergartens responded and stated in total that they lacked 456 children. That means just under 3,000 children nationally,” says PBL Director Anne Lindboe to Dagbladet.

Employees who responded to the survey say that the reason may be that parents have been laid off and thus have more time to stay home with their children. But there are also some who believe their parents feel it is unsafe, partly because there are other family members who are at risk of being seriously ill from the Coronavirus.
