The oldest son of Crown Princess Mette-Marit, Marius Borg Høiby (23), has got a new job, as a motorcycle mechanic in Lier.
It was Seher.no that first mentioned the news on Friday. Now the general manager Mats Wike Runningen at MREXX Motor in Lierskogen confirms that what Byavisa Drammen published on Monday, that the 23-year-old works with them, is correct.
– “He is a great guy,” says Runningen to Drammens Tidende.
On his Facebook profile, Høiby himself writes that he works at MREXX Motor. He also states on his profile that he has been there since May 2020.

The president of huge Illinois State University (teachers’ university) shocked everyone many years ago, resigning to become a car mechanic and do (for a living) what he really enjoyed.
When he was about 20, my older son was just given one of the big Hondas which no local Macomb Illinois mechanic could figure out how to fix. After much trial and tribulation, he found the *4* hidden problems and rode his steed – for example, one time – down from Juneau Alaska – well, aboard the ferry to Seattle – and on down the western coastal Highway 1 all the way into Mexico. (When I found out about him being alone in Mexico, I sent him an “inspirational” e-mail (which shocked the entire family) for him to get the … heck … OUT of there.)
He is now living his dream as an aerospace engineer – he likes to tinker new designs – and he and my daughter in law just made me a proud grandfather. 🙂 And he has also just finally sold away the Honda, to his father’s great relief!
That is, “crotch rockets” don’t have the safety features cars do, and I can remember one young motorcyclist neighbor who spent most of the rest of his life in a (motorized) wheelchair. And I remember a very beautiful young girl who fell off the back of her boyfriend’s motorcycle and forever after walked with a strange jerky limp (… and she was lucky).
