On Tuesday and Wednesday, around 350 soldiers and civilian employees will be tested after an outbreak of infection connected to the Armed Forces in Bodø.

“It is first and foremost recruits, but officers and civilian employees will also be tested,” municipal chief physician Tor Claudi in Bodø Municipality in a press release.

In the last four days, nine cases of infection have been detected in Bodø, and all are connected to the Armed Forces. One of the cases has an unknown route of infection – there are many indications that it is a case of imported infection.

Claudi is afraid that there may be new cases of infection among military personnel.

“Through extensive testing, we hope to gain even better control of the outbreak, and if necessary, we will test even more people associated with the Armed Forces in Bodø,” he said.
