Oslo Municipality is in the process of extensive corona testing on construction sites.

According to newspaper Aftenposten, Oslo’s City Council wants to use the Municipality’s four mobile test units and two privately operated corona test buses to screen all employees on the city’s construction sites.

“We have seen outbreaks of infection at some construction sites in Oslo. Therefore, we decided to start this work aimed at construction sites.

“And it is, of course, easiest to start with the municipal construction sites,” Rina Mariann Hansen (AP), Vice-Mayor for Work, Integration, and Social Services, noted.

Mass testing in the future?

Health Vice-Mayor Robert Steen (AP) thinks there will be a lot of mass testing in the future and believes it could be a key to easing the restrictions.

“Ideally, we would all have quick tests that we could take home once or twice a week,” he said.

Among other things, the local health authority believes that it will be necessary to consider mass testing if the gyms are to be opened again.
