According to the mayor of the Municipality, the British corona variant has probably spread in Ulvik through the school and kindergarten.

Experiences from abroad show that this variant is contagious among children, newspaper VG writes.

Mayor Hans Petter Thorbjørnsen does not know how many of the confirmed infection cases are children, but he knows that the infection originates from that environment.

He believes the infection has first occurred among the children and then spread to the adults.

“Adults are better than children at keeping their distance. It is a challenge for the kids,” he said.

In a municipality the size of Ulvik in Italy, a major outbreak of the British corona variant has occurred, mainly connected to children who have been infected and then infected the rest of the family.
