MDG invites Venstre in Oslo to talks about a possible city council collaboration.

Head of Oslo MDG, Einar Wilhelmsen, confirms to Aftenposten that he has already taken the initiative and invited Venstre to a conversation.

“In the election campaign, Venstre was a clear bourgeois party and wanted to govern Oslo together with Høyre and Frp. Now they have signaled that they would like to support a red-green city council. The left has turned 180 degrees. We think it is very interesting,” says Wilhelmsen.

Since 2015, the Oslo City Council has had a written cooperation agreement with Røde, which has secured the red-green city council majority for the budgets.

Earlier this week, however, Hallstein Bjercke, leader of the Oslo Left, opened in an interview with Dagens Næringsliv for the party to change sides in Oslo policy.

On Thursday, Wilhelmsen had a telephone conversation with Bjercke. The conversation was so positive that MDG now invites Venstre to a conversation about a possible collaboration.
