On Sunday, January 10, there will be a memorial service in Gjerdrum church in memory of the landslide victims in Gjerdrum.

Prime Minister Erna Solberg (H) will be present in the church on Sunday, as well as, among others, musician and poet Trygve Skau.

Parish priest Jakob Furuseth will lead the service.

King Harald, Queen Sonja, and Crown Prince Haakon were in Gjerdrum church on Sunday to light candles and remember the landslide’s victims.

They did so after meeting the rescue crews who worked in the landslide area.

Closed to the public

For infection control reasons, the service is closed to the public, but it will be broadcast live on NRK TV and NRK Radio.

A total of 31 housing units were swept away by the landslide in Gjerdrum. More than a thousand people were evacuated after the landslide.

Seven people have been found dead in the landslide area. Three people are believed to have died but are still not found.
