The Norwegian Public Roads Administration expects a lot of traffic during the day. The Norwegian Meteorological Institute has issued a yellow danger warning for blowing snow in Langfjella over the Hardangervidda and Heiane.

“We expect more traffic during the day and afternoon. We recommend that you are prepared for the (weather) conditions and drive carefully,” traffic operator Magnus Nilsen in the Norwegian Public Roads Administration told the newspaper Agderposten.

Motorists in Southern Norway who go to the cabin at Easter or drive over the mountains are asked to plan ahead. There is currently heavy snowfall in Langfjella.

“(There is) reduced visibility. There may be locally difficult driving conditions due to snow on the roadway. Column driving can be introduced, and/or roads can be closed at short notice,” meteorologists warn.

The wind is expected to decrease throughout the afternoon on Wednesday.
