In weeks 36 and 37 there will be exercise activity with military helicopters in Eastern Norway. Practice areas are Vestfold, Østfold, Akershus and Oslo.

The exercises take place in the evening and night hours from Monday 2nd September to Friday 6th September, reports the Defence (Forsvaret), which says that people in the area must expect increased helicopter noise during the period.

The exercise is part of an annual exercise program.

In addition, Bell 412 and the F-16 fighter aircraft will be practicing in the area at Horten in Vestfold from Wednesday 5th September to Thursday 12th September. So-called flares will be used in this area.

Flares are a heat source that are fired from aircraft and helicopters to prevent heat-seeking missiles from hitting the target. Flares are easily visible when they are fired, so it can create some attention. The activity will take place during the day, but not on weekends.
