Preliminary tests show that the American pharmaceutical company Moderna’s vaccine against COVID-19 is 94.5% effective, the company stated on Monday.
The early results come from a clinical study with more than 30,000 participants.
Stephane Bancel, CEO of Moderna, says the study shows that the vaccine also has a proven effect against serious disease courses.
The results show a higher efficiency than Pfizer’s vaccine.
Last week, Pfizer presented a vaccine with 90% efficiency.
