More than 1 million Ukrainians have returned to their home country

According to a spokesman for the country’s border guards, more than 1 million Ukrainians have returned to the country since Russia invaded on February 24.

“During this period, 1.1 million of our citizens have arrived in Ukraine,” Andri Demchenko said.

The UN High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) said on Wednesday that more than 5 million Ukrainians had left the country since the war broke out.
