Almost 2,000 employees at Oslo Airport have been fired, and more than 3,500 have been laid off due to the decline in air traffic during the corona pandemic.

The figures were collected by Norwegian Broadcasting (NRK) from the largest companies at Oslo Airport.

The hotels around the airport are not included.

The number of passengers has recently been around 15% of what it was before the corona pandemic broke out, and Avinor recently decided that parts of the airport will be closed down.

Gry Hosøy, head of NAV in Ullensaker, is concerned that this is only the beginning of the dismissals.
