Around 700 people who visited Norefjell Ski & Spa this weekend have been told to test themselves for corona, as a possible connection to the omicron outbreak in Oslo is suspected.

“During the weekend, four positive self-tests were registered, and on Monday, just over 80 people who were at work at the hotel will be PCR-tested,” Anne Marit Tangen, head of health and care in Krødsherad Municipality told the newspaper Bygdeposten.

She said that as soon as they get an overview of the guests at the hotel this weekend, they will notify the municipalities where they live.

According to the newspaper Dagbladet, the number amounts to around 700 people.

Linked to the Christmas dinner party in Oslo?

The infection is potentially linked to the Christmas dinner party at Louise Restaurant & Bar at Aker Brygge Brygge in Oslo, where more than 100 people were infected. There, at least 13 of the infected tested positive for the omicron variant.

The general manager at Norefjell Ski & Spa, Sjur Aalvik, says they do not know how many people are infected.

“We follow the messages we receive from the Municipality, and so far, all employees have tested negative on rapid tests. We are now waiting for the PCR test results,” Aalvik said.
