The number of passengers in Norway has increased steadily throughout the year.

An update from Avinor shows that 733,469 passengers left Avinor’s airports during autumn holidays in large parts of Southern and Eastern Norway, E24 writes.

Overall, there is still a long way to go before the aviation sector returns to pre-crisis levels. The number of passengers in 2021 is still 35% lower than in 2019.

The figures also show that the number of foreign travelers is also lower – 37% fewer passengers traveled abroad compared with 2019. For domestic travelers, the decrease amounts to 18%.

These are preliminary figures that may be slightly lower than the actual passenger figures. The busiest day last week was Sunday, when over 138,000 passengers left Avinor’s airports.
