More than one million Norwegians have now received their first dose of the coronavirus vaccine, figures from the statistical bank Sysvak show.
On Friday, it was registered that 1,025,436 people have received the first dose of the corona vaccine in Norway, according to Sysvak.
Furthermore, 300,032 people have been fully vaccinated with two doses.
Norway’s first vaccine dose was administered on Christmas Eve. Three vaccines have been used in Norway as of Friday, Pfizer’s and Moderna’s mRNA vaccines and the AstraZeneca vaccine.
AstraZeneca vaccine issues
The latter has been temporarily removed from the vaccination program as a result of rare but serious side effects in the form of blood clots combined with low platelets.
A new assessment of the AstraZeneca vaccine will be made after an expert committee has submitted its report on May 10.
The Pfizer vaccine dominates the Norwegian vaccination program. A total of 930,804 Pfizer doses have been distributed to Norwegian municipalities. Not all of these have been administered.
In addition, 102,402 Moderna doses and 179,200 AstraZeneca doses have been distributed.
