According to a new survey from the Norwegian Corona Monitor, more than eight out of ten Norwegians want shops and restaurants to continue offering antibacterial gel even after the coronavirus pandemic ends.

Only 12% answered “no,” and 4% didn’t know.

“Some of the new habits we developed during the epidemic seem to be more and more permanent.

Disinfecting hands at the entrance of shops and restaurants is one of those for Norwegians,” Opinion’s senior advisor Nora Clausen said in a press release.

On Monday this week, NHO Sercive og Handel said that the industry wants to continue infection control measures even when the pandemic is over.

The same goes for the Norwegian Directorate of Health, which believes that antibacterial gel is one of many measures that could prevent the spread of other illnesses such as the flu virus or common diseases.

In all Norwegian regions, 80-90% of the respondents believe that antibacterial gel is here to stay.

A total of 1,356 people have been surveyed.
