The mother who killed her two sons in Lørenskog last summer has been sentenced to 21 years in prison.

The information has been confirmed by the woman’s defender, lawyer Gunhild Lærum, to TV 2.

The woman has explained in court that she does not remember the killings but has acknowledged that no one could have carried them out.

She has been admitted to a psychiatric hospital since the incident.

The one- and seven-year-old sons were found killed in July 2020 in the apartment where they lived with their mother. Fire crews found the children after receiving a report of a fire. The woman had critical injuries.

The woman is also accused of blaming the murders on her ex-husband after she, in the ambulance on the way to the hospital, told people that he had been in the apartment and injured her.

He was wrongly charged with inflicting grievous bodily harm to the woman and the murder of his sons.
