Motorcycle driver died after an accident in Stavanger

A 47-year-old motorcyclist died after he drove into a bus shelter in Stavanger on Friday night.

The accident happened at the Shell station at Åsen in Stavanger at 7pm Friday night. On Saturday morning it was reported that the man had died, writes Stavanger Aftenblad.
– Police were on an emergency call on the way to Storhaug. On their way through Åsen the police ended up behind a motorcycle.
The motorcycle driver sped off all of a sudden, and there was a considerable gap between the motorcycle and the police car, the operations leader in South Western Police District, Egil Karlsen, told the newspaper.
The 47-year-old motorcyclist lost control and crossed the entire carriageway before he ran into the shed which was completely shattered.
He was taken to Stavanger University Hospital where he later died.
