The MS Roald Amundsen ship doctor was killed in his home country two weeks ago, according to newspaper Nordlys.

“We are aware that a former employee has been the victim of a criminal act in his home country.

“We have sent our deepest condolences to the family and the bereaved in this very sad case,” press officer Tarjei Kramviken at Hurtigruten told Nordlys on Saturday night.

The Philippine site Remate Online writes that Arnold P. Hicarte has been killed by a person on a motorcycle on October 12 when he parked outside a gas station in the city of Antipolo, the capital of the province of Rizal in the Philippines.

The staffing agency OSM confirmed the murder.

“He was indeed killed, but the family does not want us to comment on it further,” CEO Geir Sekkesæter at OSM told Nordlys.
