Mullah Krekar demands 200,000 kroner in damages after he  was acquitted of making threats by the Court of Appeal after sitting more than six months in custody.

Krekar warned of a reparation claim against the state on the day after the acquittal of making threats in March. Now the claim has been formally tabled,  lawyer Brynjar Meling, who has represented Krekar for years, confirms.
The controversial mullah wants 200.000 kroner in reparation due to the judicial process against him having destroyed his good name and reputation, according to Meling.
– The repearation claim is mainly based on two circumstances. One is the number of days he’s been in prison. And, secondly, that you normally are entitled to a reparation when your good name and reputation has been destroyed, says Meling to TV2 news.
He points out that the law is equal for everyone in Norway.
