Police urge drivers to be extra careful on slippery roads on Saturday morning. Several traffic accidents have already been reported.

“It is very slippery on some roads this morning,” the Oslo police wrote on Twitter around 8:45 on Saturday morning.

E18, E6, and Østre Aker are highlighted as very risky. Efforts are being made to spread salt on these road sections. Vegtrafikksentralen asks drivers to adapt their speed to the driving conditions.

Several traffic accidents

There have been several traffic accidents as a result of slippery roads. A car drove into the guardrail just before 8 o’clock on the E6 at Klemetsrud. No injuries were reported.

On the E18 in Bærum, a car collided with a road barrier. The driver has been transferred to the hospital for a check-up. About 20 minutes later, a new car lost control close by due to the slippery road. Another car drove into that car. Luckily, no injuries were reported, according to the police.

Icy roads in Vestfold

Police in the Southeastern Police District also warned drivers about dangerous road conditions.

“The police encourage drivers to be extra careful this morning,” the police wrote on Twitter.

The operations center has received several reports of icy roads in Vestfold and has notified Vegtrafikksentralen.
