Extensive disease transmission among employees in the health and care services has impacted the quality of the services in several areas in Trondheim Municipality.

The general spread of infection in Trondheim has led to an increase in infection at several health and welfare centers, health centers, medical services, home services, and other health and welfare services in Trondheim, the Municipality wrote in a press release.

It adds that both the coronavirus and other respiratory infections are causing trouble.

“It varies between isolated episodes and long periods of infection. This has led to a very demanding staffing situation,” the Municipality noted.

It warned that the Municipality’s residents could notice this in several different ways, including time allocation and the manner of provision of municipal services.

“The inhabitants can experience longer queues on telephone lines and longer waiting times at GPs and emergency rooms. We are grateful for the understanding and patience from residents and service recipients due to the situation we are in now,” the Municipality concluded.
