Murder accused acknowledges having shot his wife and stepson

59-year-old from Kirkenes admits to having shot his wife and stepson, but will not take a position on the question of guilt. Friday he was remanded in custody for four weeks.

Based on commitment orders from Nord-Troms District Court it become clear that he admits having attempted to commit suicide after shooting his wife Pimsiri Songngam (37) and her 12 years old son Petchngam Songngam at their apartment in Kirkenes on August 29th this year.

Just two weeks after the killings, the 59-year-old is still not questioned. He has been hospitalized and were too poor to attend a scheduled interview onThursday.

The man’s lawyer, Stein Rønning, informs iFinnmark that the 59 years old Norwegian citizen has consented to police desire custody for four weeks.

Nord-Troms District Court treats detention petition later Friday.

– I had a conversation with him at the hospital. He is certainly present and communicate smoothly but he is characterized by what has happened, says Rønning to iFinnmark.
