Assistant Director of Health Espen Nakstad has won the approval of the Norwegian people during the Coronavirus crisis.

Out of six government officials, Nakstad has topped the list in a survey Norstat conducted for ABC News. He was ahead of the Prime Minister and the Minister of Health.

1,056 Norwegians were asked who they thought  “excelled most positively during the corona crisis”. The alternatives were Camilla Stoltenberg, Erna Solberg, Bent Høie, Bjørn Guldvog, Line Vold, and Espen Nakstad, and two could be chosen.

A total of 44 per cent of those surveyed mentioned Nakstad. Prime Minister Erna Solberg was 8 percentage points behind Nakstad while Minister of Health Bent Høie, 10 percentage points.

The three were mentioned far more often than the others in the survey.

Nakstad was more frequently mentioned among women than men –  46 against 43 per cent.

In the youngest age group, however, politicians emerged the best. 45 per cent of them showed they had the most positive impression from Solberg and Høie. Among all groups over 40 years, however, Nakstad was mentioned most prominently.
