Since the pandemic broke out, the authorities have been worried that some people would try to take advantage of the situation.

Nannestad Municipality is now reporting a woman for attempted vaccine fraud.

In January, a person from Nannestad was called by a woman who pretended to be from the Municipality, newspaper Romerikes Blad writes.

“A resident was contacted with a message that the person in question should receive a vaccine. The resident was told to go to a website and enter information,” Runar Nilsen from Nannestad Municipality told the newspaper.

After the conversation, the resident in question contacted the Municipality.

“Then we quickly realized that it had to be fraud,” Nilsen said.

The Municipality has chosen to report the case.

“We never charge for vaccinations, neither before nor after the vaccination. If you are in doubt when someone calls you about vaccination, you can hang up and contact the Municipality’s corona line,” Nilsen concluded.
