Between Christmas and the New Year, NAV Årstad will open its premises intended for visitors that don’t have an appointment.

The building has been completely or partially closed since September 20, when one NAV employee was killed and another seriously injured in an attack.

From November 15, there has been a temporary opportunity to show up without an appointment, but on December 27, the public reception’s main entrance will reopen.

A woman in her 50s was killed during the incident in September, while a woman in her 30s was injured when a man in his 30s attacked the two NAV employees at Årstad in Bergen with a knife.

The accused is a man in his late 30s, of foreign origin, and has been a Norwegian citizen since 2019. He has been charged with murder and inflicting grievous bodily harm after the knife attack.
