A total of 49,243 people have been sent to quarantine hotels after arriving in Norway from abroad. May 24 was the day with the most quarantine hotel guests.

Oslo and Viken are the counties with the most quarantine hotels – they currently have 21 hotels in operation, P4 writes.

“There are now many vacancies. There has been some increase recently, but we still have plenty of space in the hotels,” emergency adviser Britt Falmår at the County Governor in Oslo and Viken said.

May 24 was the day with the most guests at the quarantine hotels. At that time, 711 people were registered in quarantine hotels. In comparison, there were 234 people in quarantine hotels on August 10.

Although more and more Norwegians have now been vaccinated against the coronavirus, the County Governor has no plans to close the quarantine hotels immediately.

“We will maintain preparedness at the quarantine hotels well throughout the autumn and throughout the year if necessary,” Falmår said.
