While corona vaccination in the European Union (EU) remains slow, the UK is vaccinating record numbers of people.
On Saturday, almost 600,000 were vaccinated.
Almost 9 million people have now received the first dose of vaccine in the country, while 490,000 have received the second dose.
By mid-February, the UK authorities aim to make vaccination available to all the 15 million people in risk groups.
Although the UK’s infection curve is declining, many new infection cases are still registered every day.
More than 20,000 new cases were registered on Sunday alone.
