Almost half of all motorcycles in Norway make illegal noises, according to the Norwegian Public Roads Administration.

“It is a problem in society today that we have noisy motorcycles at all hours of the day,” inspector Birger Lønne in the Norwegian Public Roads Administration told Norwegian Broadcasting (NRK).

46% of the motorcycles that the Norwegian Public Roads Administration has inspected this year had a noise level above what is allowed.

So far this year, one in eight controlled motorcyclists has been banned from use due to the illegally high noise level, which is five times more than in 2017.

” If you have a vehicle, you must adhere to what the legislation says,” Lønne said.
