A man in his early 30s has been sentenced to five months in prison for the sexual abuse of several dogs over many years.
“The defendant has, on several occasions, in connection with three dogs, over many years, acted in a way that was at least caused strain on the dogs, including – at least – encouraging them to behavior and activity that is not natural for them. The court assumes that this has happened at least 20 times,” judge Stine Andreassen in Nedre Romerike District Court noted.
The verdict is also related to the possession of child abuse material. Furthermore, the man was banned from owning or caring for animals until further notice.
The man pleaded guilty to the sexual abuse of the dogs but not to possessing child abuse material.
Both the prosecution and the man’s defense counsel emphasized that the verdict is unique and that it may be important for future cases.
It is not clear whether the verdict will be appealed.
