It will no longer be possible for Russians to watch movies on Netflix. The company is stopping the provision of its service in the country.

The company did not elaborate on any details about the decision. It simply stated that the decision is due to “circumstances on the ground.”

Tiktok also decided to temporarily suspend the possibility of live streaming and uploading new content to the platform in Russia, due to the new media law in the country, which makes it a criminal offense to spread “fake news” about what Russia refers to as “a military operation” in Ukraine. The penalty for such offenses is 15 years.

More and more digital platforms are becoming inaccessible to Russian citizens. Recently, Russian authorities blocked social media platforms such as Facebook and Twitter.
