Several cases of the mutated British coronavirus have been detected at the Aibel shipyard in Haugesund.

The information was confirmed by municipal chief medical officer Jostein Helgeland to the newspaper Haugesunds Avis on Wednesday afternoon.

At the time, Helgeland could not say how many new cases of the British variant have been detected.

On Friday last week, one case was confirmed at the shipyard after a commuter tested positive for the virus.

Since then, another six workers have tested positive. Four of these were confirmed on Sunday, one on Tuesday, and one on Wednesday. All are commuters, the newspaper writes.
